I have dreamed about crab dip for a very long time… may be since my last trip to the states, which was like 5 years ago. And I know that crab dip is not a big deal for some people, but here in Bulgaria we do not have access to fresh blue crabs, we can’t even find a can of crab meat to buy… not that I want thou, I am just saying that crabs and crab meat are mirage around here. Imagine my surprise when I accidentally saw fresh blue crabs in one of our stores. I instantly bought a couple of crabs and rushed home to cook them.
I never found the original recipe for crab dip…. but I distinctly remember the creamy delicious taste of it… so I decided to improvise. The result was surprisingly good! Even better than good! I was only missing the garlic bread…. ![]()

Ingredients:
150 grams (5.3 oz) jumbo lump crab meat
175 grams (6 oz) cream cheese
80 grams (3 oz) grated cheddar cheese
2 stalks of green onions, cut into small pieces (or artichoke, cut into small pieces)
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons fresh lemon or lime juice
1/2 teaspoon mustard
Salt and pepper

Preheat your oven to 180 C (350 F)
Combine all of the ingredients (except the crab meat) in a small bowl stir until well combined. Add the crab meat and gently stir. Crab meat is very delicate, so be careful while stirring.

Evenly divide the mixture into your baking dishes, or use one bigger dish.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Serve hot or cold with crackers or garlic baguette.
